This is a truly special place. With great thermals, glass-offs, a huge grassy launch, easy landing zone and many nearby attractions, Sky Retreat is the perfect way for paragliders and their families to experience western N.C. For the first time, my wife and kids have enjoyed going on a paragliding trip with me. This new site is not only the best in the region, flying is now easier because my family is also looking forward to our next visit.

I love having a place where I can retreat from the noise and congestion of city life. Where the air is fresh and you can see a billion stars on a clear night. I like having a place where I can lay out my paragliding wing, feel the breeze coming up the hill and launch into the smooth air, soaring over the Blue Ridge Mountains, gently touching down in a gorgeous green meadow landing zone. A place where I can meditate, learn yoga, kayak whitewater and even learn ballroom dancing with my wife, knowing that at day's end I will peacefully fall asleep in a rustic lakeside cabin. Sky Retreat is my kind of place.

My wife and I love Sky Retreat! For us it's a perfect hub for a weekend of mountain biking, paragliding, hiking and relaxing with some amazing views across the mountains. After a day full day of playing hard in the mountains, it's hard to beat sitting on top of the ridge up there, overlooking the valley with a glass of wine. Everyone is so nice and they really know how to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend this place

We love it here! The cabin we stayed was the premium and it had everything we needed and more! It was decorated like a modern cabin and super clean with little details that made us comfortable and welcome. We can't speak anymore highly about the owners. I mean wow! Very hospitable! Just spent almost a week at Sky Retreat, it was wonderful. The people were such a pleasure to be around. Everyone was so friendly and fun. ...So much to do. I loved the ballroom dancing and yoga. Will definitely go back. The flight off the mountain was phenomenal !!!!

Look no further than Sky Retreat for your next vacation or event! I visited and was extremely impressed with the property, cabins, staff, and overall experience. Pictures don't do justice for the views from the retreat. The chance to take a tandem paragliding flight alone is worth the visit. This place would be prime for weddings, corporate events, or just a weekend get away. I'll definitely be back every year!
